Irepress

Irepress – (ausgesprochen EAR press).

Pure Begeisterung!” – allschools.de

Irepress – (pronounced EAR press) consist of five ancestrally diverse individuals collaboratively creating music that embodies the forward thinking aesthetic that Translation Loss Records strives toward. IREPRESS’ unique and versatile sound has allowed them to share the stage with the likes of Isis, The Wu Tang Clan, Immortal Technique, Hatebreed, Kool Keith, Kayo Dot, Shadows Fall and Gym Class Heroes. Associated with the Boston music scene, Irepress have been together since high school, and remain a band to this day. Their unique and complex sound fuses elements of dance, metal, sludge, and electronica.

“Their sound is a conjuring full of punishing metallic riffs and bombast counterbalanced by melodic passages and harmony interludes that are so stirringly gorgeous you may just want to bury your head in your arms and weep for having been exposed to their being.” – Maelstrom.nu

“Sol Eye Sea I is a soaring multi-part epic, but it’s got as much groove as it does morose majesty—not surprising, considering that Davé backs ’80s rapper Slick Rick on the road. “The whole instrumental scene is so overdone, and the whole Neurosis and Isis movement—none of us were influenced by that,” he says. “I’ve only heard a few songs by those bands, and I know we’re lumped in there. But it’s a good thing, because every time we play a show with one of those sludgy, doomy bands, we’re kind of set apart.” – altpress

“Imagine flying ninety miles per hour down a highway blasting Irepress and day dreaming of being chased by ninjas and directly above you is an alien spaceship awaiting the downfall of the world and you’re the only one who can save the world. By the way, it’s raining heavily and your family has been obliterated. That’s the feel of Irepress, an epic entourage of expressive guitar and explosive bass.” – Scenepointblank.com
